Message In A Bottle

I hung around waiting for another to use me
The way he did

There was something about his brand of abuse
That somehow made me feel alive
Still invisible
But held together by the glue of his gaze

When days blurred into nights
And I disappeared into bottles

The message imprisoned behind my fractured glass read
"Save yourself, girl."

And so I did.
